SCULPTURE

The issues surrounding body image are prevalent in today’s society. My work aims to explore aspects of the body that could typically be viewed as imperfect whilst also exploring my own body in order to address the issues we often face with the relationship with our own body due to social influence and society’s expectations. The abject is a key reference within my work, often using hair and other features of the body that could be seen as “ugly” or “disgusting”. Although they are just the reality of the human body it often forces the viewer to feel a certain way when these aspects are realised.
